Zen Tara Tea Shop UPDATES
WE'RE OPEN!
Zen Tara Tea opened on December 6th, 2009 in downtown Bethesda, MD just north of Metro Washington, DC. The shop is located at 4710 Bethesda Avenue, 2 blocks south of the Metro Station/one block west of Wisconsin Avenue and a half block west of the Barnes & Noble book store.
A bit rushed to be open for the holidays, we're still completing some of the lighting and interior details and will be open partial hours in December. In January we will be open full days and evenings and will host a series of Grand Opening events, including tea tasting events in our specially designed tea tasting room.

NOVEMBER NEWS
Our space is getting that finished look about it. All of the equipment is in, the bamboo flooring, cabinets and shelving are set to go. Tables and chairs are staged in the back room ready to be put to use. The tail that is wagging the dog right now is finishing the track lighting, the exterior signage and getting through a final round of pre-opening inspections by Montgomery County. We're getting close!
OCTOBER NEWS
During the second week of October we finally received our complete construction permit from Montgomery County, MD. Contractors immediately began on the electrical and plumbing work for the new shop. It is great to see progress on a daily basis and continue to appreciate the positive feedback of the downtown Bethesda community that is anxious for a firm opening date (as are we!).
SEPTEMBER NEWS
Not much exciting to report. Mundane details of conforming track lighting and outlet locations and waiting for Montgomery County permitting officials to give us a green light. Zen Tara Tea will be attending the World Tea & Natural Products Expo East in Boston, September 22-24, 2009 as we finalize our fall menu of teas, accessories and food items.
