Autumn Crescendo Darjeeling Tea, FTGFOP1 picked November 15, 2010.
One of our Direct from the Grower teas, this unique Darjeeling black tea is harvested in late fall through early November from select Glenburn Estate clonal fields.
This autumn cup of Darjeeling has a gentle copper glow, mirroring the evening sun on the snows of nearby Mount Kanchenjunga in the Himalayas, in the shadows of which it is made. It is full bodied and mellow, has a delicate flowery bouquet and undertones of malt, with a long finish. Unlike early spring and summer Darjeelings which require a more precise brewing to get the optimum cup, the autumn harvest allows for a more forgiving brew that avoids any astringency or bitterness when brewed longer.
The tea bushes in Darjeeling provide one grand finale at the end of the harvesting year and the taste lingers in this tea like a beautiful symphony that carries you through the winter as we await the first harvest of the spring to come.
