A lemon black tea probably seems like a no-brainer but it took us a long time to find a way to create a perfect balance of lemon flavor with a full-flavored black tea. We didn't care for the method others use of just adding a lemon flavoring to tea leaves, so many of the lemon black teas we tried the lemony aroma lifting up out of the cup seemed more like a furniture polish smell than a true citron/lemon flavor.
Thankfully, our patience was rewarded by discovering the successful pairing of citron natural flavor dried ingredients with an exceptional Meyer Lemon flavor. "Meyer" lemon trees were brought to the United States in the early 20th century and are a cross between a lemon and a mandarin orange. The Meyer lemon has smooth vibrant, golden yellow edible rind and a high volume of juice without the harsh acidic tartness of a regular lemon.
This rewarding combination of lemon citron flavors creates one of the best lemon black teas we've ever tasted.
