Organic Licorice root has a mellow, enduring sweet flavor and is well known for its ability to ease coughs and colds, soothe sore throats and increase circulation. Licorice root is known as the “great mediator” in Chinese herbal medicine because it is used in herbal blends to balance the complex properties of potent herbal ingredients so they can be absorbed easily by the body. Licorice root tastes great on its own or with a bit of honey, lemon and fresh ginger. The aroma and flavor of licorice roor is sweet and comforting, reminiscent of anise or fennel. Caffeine-free.
Heat water (filtered, if possible) to a low boil and let cool slightly, add one generous teaspoon of loose leaf tea per cup (apprx. 8 ounces). Infuse the tea for 3-4 minutes depending on taste preference.
