Zen Tara Chai Teas

Zen Tara Tea will always have a core menu of classic teas that are the very best we can find, consistent from season to season and reasonably priced for a quality loose leaf tea. We also want to bring together some of the most intriguing teas we can find in tea categories that are just beginning to be more popular in the United States: oolongs, Pu-erh teas, white teas and Chai teas.

Chai is perhaps the most personal of all teas. There is no one singular Chai blend, although Masala Chai is maybe the most famous of all Chai teas, and everyone one loves to tinker with their chai teas to make them their own. Adjust the cardamom, add a little more cinnamon, allspice or crushed almonds. Be creative.

These six chai blends, including two caffeine-free and one green tea based chai, are a great way to explore the variety of chai teas. Enjoy these fun, invigorating, flavorful tea's.

500 Mile Chai

Andaman Chai (caffeine-free)

Himalayan Chai
An exceptional blend of black tea from the gardens near the Darjeeling estates along the foothills of the Himalayas. Traditional chai spices and the medium bodied black tea create an exceptional chai blend.

Masala Chai

Maghreb Mint Green Chai
A green tea version of chai with the addition of refreshing mint leaves. It might be better named a Moroccan Chai.

Ancient Mayan Chai (caffeine free)
A blending of traditional chai spices with the South American ramon nut. Travel to the Mayan temples in a cup of chai.
